We know that there are parts of the city already, as water has been pumping into distribution since last night that have had a return of some water function.
We, really need to continue to press the message of conservation.
KEYRIS MANZANARES: Mayor Danny Avula says the city made significant progress overnight, but it's been over 72 hours since Richmond residents had running water.
A winter storm-related power outage caused the city's water reservoir system to fail Monday, knocking out running water and prompting a boil water advisory.
The restoration process was delayed by an electrical panel failure Tuesday.
As low pressure water begins returning for some, the mayor says it may look dirty and cloudy.
DANNY AVULA: Our protocol in the state with VDH is two tests separated by 16 hours, that are negative Right, And so at some point likely this afternoon will be that first set of tests.
So at this point, I think it is unlikely that we will lift the boiled water advisory before Friday.
KEYRIS MANZANARES: City leaders recommend boiling any city water before drinking it.
The city is also preparing for potential snowfall Friday.
Department of Public Utilities Director April Bingham says it's going to be an all hands on deck effort.
